Ethyl benzoate is China's "sanitary standards for use of food additives permitted the use of food flavors, mainly used for the preparation of blackcurrant, cherry, strawberry, banana, grape and other fruit flavor type. Use in chewing gum is 59mg/kg; 10mg/kg baked foods; candy 9.0mg/kg 2.8mg/kg; soft drinks; cold drinks in 2.8mg/kg.

Used in the preparation of flavor, also used as cellulose ester, cellulose ether, resin and other solvents
